Hickey Freeman Fall ’16

Rochester’s famed tailoring label Hickey Freeman presented a strong and elegant collection at 214 Lafayette St.  Quiet in the past, Hickey Freeman has recently been a consistent standout over the past few seasons.  With a slightly modern take on the American classics, Hickey Freeman stayed true to its roots while still making it desirable to today’s market of modern gentlemen.

With warm colors in an element that can only be described as pure manliness, Hickey Freeman developed a collection that spoke volumes of the companies direction.  With an updated fit and focus on patterns and texture, the collection was nothing short of memorable.  With a few on-trend plays, such as cashmere joggers, the classic label portrayed a look of elegance from everything from a vicuna jacket to bold dinner wear.  These pieces may have been eye-openers, but the real winners were the updates to the classic tailoring that the company is famed for.

The venue set aside, which reminded me of “rich mahogany and many leather bound books”. the collection was one of my favorites and excited about for one of the hometown favorites.
